FORMS OF LIGHT is a group of multimedia essays. Photographs, environmental sounds, and narration are combined to express a series of thoughts about nature. Although all the elements were recorded by Ron McAdow, the underlying ideas will be familiar to readers of Henry Thoreau and Ralph Waldo Emerson.

FORMS OF LIGHT brings the enriching effect of a long outdoor walk.

McAdow created these essays to convey the suggestible ways of nature. In the process he found himself setting down some thoughts about mortality and perception. Such topics are difficult to express in prose because they are so abstract, but the multimedia character of these essays allows photographs to illustrate the meaning of the narrations. The ideas, however, are secondary to the emotions - the essays celebrate the beauty of the world around us.
